Q: What are your biggest organising challenges?

Guess what? Most people reading this, will probably answer the same way.

Most people are dealing with too much paper and too much of something else. Be it clothes, shoes, magazines, toys, craft and hobby materials, lifestyle clutter, stuff in their diaries or email in the in-box!!

It's a question of choice. Chaos or Balance?

One common theme that I hear from clients is that they want to spend more time with their families and those they love. Work responsibilities and overcommitted schedules seem to be the biggest obstacles, next to not knowing how or where to start when it comes to committing to de-cluttering or reorganising their homes or lives. From there procrastination sets in, and the problem soon grows and magnifies. In some cases, it may be a case of getting everyone in the home to be on the same page, working together to solve the problem.

Blame games are not the way to go. Intervention is, and sometimes it takes someone outside of all the emotion to enter in. Someone who can be objective, logical and non-judgemental. Someone who can motivate and support you through the tough decisions and keep you inspired during the process. Enter the Professional Organiser.

Now more than ever in this economic climate we should be prioritising what is important in our lives. Especially when most of us are trimming down on expenses and distractions outside of our homes and spending more time within our homes and with each other. Finally we have a reason to use our time differently and more wisely. No more excuses.

"42% of Australian workers take sickies every few months to ‘catch a breather'."

~ Hallis 2003/2004 Survey

"75% of Australians, want to spend more time with their families."

~ Australian Institute of Study, 1999

"88% of homes have at least one cluttered room, and the average home has three or more cluttered rooms. The spare room is the most cluttered area in the home, followed by cupboards, the garage and bedrooms. Not surprisingly, people living in detached houses had more clutter than people living in townhouses or apartments, and people with kids in the home tend to have more clutter than those without." and "four in ten Australians say they feel anxious, guilty or depressed about the clutter in their homes"...

Australia Institute Research Fellow Josh  Fear, Reseach Paper No. 52 entitled Stuff Happens: Unused things cluttering up our homes. (https://www.tai.org.au/index.php?q=node/16)

Clutter is often defined as:

Anything you own, or do, that does not enhance your life. Clutter can be objects we have, things we do, negative emotions, activities or situations. All of which drain our energy or our spirit.

The Less Equals More Solution for your organised lifestyle ...

Less clutter, Less confusion, Less stress and Less wasted time

Equals

More space, More workable systems, More harmony and More time for you, your family and for the things you value and enjoy!

Being organised is not about minimalism, perfectionism or losing your spontaneity. A home should still be a home, just one that works better and does it's job to support and comfort you. When routines and organisational systems are implemented correctly they'll feel more like life jackets and not like straight jackets.

So if you are contemplating whether or not you could benefit from either working with a Less Equals More professional organiser, or perhaps attending a Less Equals More workshop, consider these wise words ...

A family is a place where minds come in contact with one another. If these minds love one another, the home will be beautiful as a flower garden. But if these minds get out of harmony with one another, it is like a storm that plays havoc with the garden."  ~ Buddah

Testimonials from some clients of Less Equals More

"Does your life feel like it is on a roller-coaster and you don't seem to have any spare time to catch up with that paperwork or clear some of the clutter that seems to be multiplying around the house?  The best call I ever made was to Angela - my home was reorganised, paperwork sorted and filed and I actually found some free time for ME!  I looked forward to each session as Angela made it fun and the time seemed to fly.  Not only that, but Angela helped me make some of the hard decisions and part with the unnecessary 'clutter' and put some systems in place that have continued to help me every day." - Barbara, Auchenflower

Lists of things to do, papers and crowded cupboards - call Angela. She's non-judgemental, punctual and before you know it you will be laughing as you do your most onerous tasks. Don't be deceived. Lurking inside that sweet exterior is a ruthless culler. At the end of the session you will be freed of some clutter and an ordered system will be starting at your place. ~ Catherine, Tarragindi

After moving into our new renovators delight, 2 years ealier,   I still was feeling overwhelmed by the clutter and disorganisation.  I also had a new laundry built downstairs which was causing a few dramas.  Angela showed me some great systems to put into place and helped me rise above my chaos.~ Leanne, Jindalee
